Forbidden Fruit

The rain pours down,
And in my heart.
A bloodied tear falls.

You’ve torn me in two,
Broken through the boundaries
Of an enclosed heart.
Emotions had been locked away,
Now torn open.

Have you ever felt this love?
That which runs
With the curren of a one-way street.
Have you ever felt this pain?
That of love
Given, but not received.
Have you ever felt this confusion?
That of the forbidden fruit.

Do I take this gift?
Or does the sacrifice,
Outweigh the blessing?
To consume this fruit,
Is to accept my fate,
Placed in your hands.

Can I walk away
From this temptation?
Or does the glow of
The forbidden fruit
Hold me,
Encompassed,
In the shackles of your love?

This fruit in my hand
Glows,
Tempts,
Weaves her magic over my heart.
I am resigned
To a fate,
In your heart.
