A Time
There was a time,
It seems years ago now,
When I thought
That I belonged.
A time that rose,
and in my heart,
A new pain grows,
While truth departs.
Upon the edge,
Of this cursed knife,
Perched on a ledge,
Of mistakes’ strife.
What have I done,
Was this mistake,
The work of one,
whose love, so great
Would bring me back,
From death’s own hands,
A wid’ning crack,
Between two lands.
It was not I,
No, never me,
Whose words and lies
Implaced this sea
That parts us now,
Though still I call,
Echoing sounds
Against this wall,
The wall that parts
Me from, the one,
To whom my heart,
Though did not belong,
Was open to,
And entrusted with,
A legend who
returned, this gift.
There was a time
Those years ago,
I would have tried
To let all know.
