You have said something that I have never even noticed before but which goes on to prove that the Old Testament tithes always consisted of food items and money can never be tithed. Joseph was sold for money, his brothers came to Egypt with money to buy food and God also commanded the children of Israel to convert the tithes for the tithing banquet into money if the place He had commanded them to eat the tithes be too far. The way tithing is taught in today’s church is completely at variance to the way it has been taught in the bible. 2 Corinthians 9 contains the giving guidelines for the New Testament believer.
