About

Hello! And thanks for stopping by Midnight Quills.

Who am I? I’m ~Jaguar, also known by a myriad of other names. I’ve been hovering around the internet now for a fair few years, but my education into the real online world began in 1998, in a chat room. Some of the people I met back then, I still am lucky enough to count as friends.

About Me:

Well, I’m male, in my late 20s, and I live in paradise – also known as Tasmania, an island off the South East coast of Australia, and I can honestly say that – at least on current experience and information – that there’s nowhere else I’d rather be living. I’ve been lucky in my life, to travel through a large portion of Australia, and much of that was on a bus. I consider it a real blessing, these days, to have seen so much of this wonderful nation.

I have a penchant for debate and controversy, am not afraid to speak my mind, and will usually argue my point vehemently if I really believe in it, and if I don’t, then I probably won’t get into the debate in the first place. I love learning, I love talking to people, hearing their perspectives, gaining knowledge from their views. I also love writing, I write poetry, song lyrics, stories, and am working on a variety of different novels. One of my goals in life is to be able to make my living from writing full time.

I have a variety of interests, obviously I love writing, reading, singing, music, theology, philosophy, history, archaeology, politics and so on, I also love sport: basketball, cricket, motorsport, and ever since the 2010 Winter Olympics, I’ve been fascinated with snowboarding, although in spite of buying a snowboard, I’m yet to actually learn to use it. Tasmania’s cold, but we’ve been distinctly lacking in snow this winter for me to have a chance to learn. All hope is not lost yet, though, Tasmania tends to be a little slow in realising that winter’s here, and it really gets into it around August.

I’m a Christian. My walk with (and without) God has been an interesting journey to this point, and is far from over yet. I spent a lot of time away from God, trying to figure out the answers to a variety of questions that I struggled to make sense of within the bounds of the Christianity that I had grown up to know. Part of the journey away, I think, was to break free of the religion of Christianity and find my personal relationship with God – because that’s the important part. I’ll probably write more on that at another stage.

About the Site:

Midnight Quills started out as a place to begin sharing and publishing my writing, it’s been through a variety of different names and visages over the years, but here we are today.

The purpose is still the same, although there seems to be more getting implemented, and as time goes by, well, I am hoping to put more online on this site.

Future inclusions I am hoping to include are:

  • Synopses and information on novels I’m currently working on.
  • Web novels – Serials that will be published solely on this site.
  • Articles and Essays.
  • Recordings of my music (if I’m lucky enough to get into a studio!)
  • Galleries of some of my photography
